Our community continues to grow with new homes, more neighbors and more friends. With that growth comes increased traffic on our roadways. This also increases the potential for fires, medical emergencies, and vehicular collisions in our Elm Valley community.
Our new Fire Station is finally completed! We have been working together for the past several years fundraising for a new station that will include room for a full-service community center. In addition, it will serve as an Emergency Center and Shelter when our community faces major emergencies such as large wildfires, floods, or other disasters. This is a major Capital Improvement Investment for your community.
The availability of your home insurance, insurance pricing for your property, and our response capability rely a great deal on the condition and capacity of our equipment. Engine #1, while still in service, is 37 years old and needs to be replaced due to concerns with reliability of a truck that old. This fire truck needs to be replaced; however, there are two problems. First, our current station will not accomodate the newer, larger-frame trucks so the new fire station is vital. Second, we need the funds to buy a new truck. Even with help from grants - a new fire truck is expensive.
A history of who we are, our humble beginnings, and the future.
